The Observatory is located in the eastern suburbs of Hyde Park/Mt. Lookout near Ault Park. The easiest access is from I-71. From the North: - Take the Dana Avenue exit 5 off of I-71. Turn left at the light.
- Dana Ave crosses Madison Road and becomes Observatory Ave.
- Continue east on Observatory for ~1.75 miles.
- The last traffic light you cross will be Delta Ave. Continue straight on Observatory Ave up the hill about 1/4 mile.
- The Observatory will be on your left on Observatory Place.
- If you miss Observatory Place you will come to the only Stop Sign on the route. You missed us by one block.
From the South: - Take the Dana Avenue exit 5 off of I-71. Turn left at the light on to Duck Creek.
- After about 3/4 mile, Bear right on to Dana Ave.
- Dana Ave crosses Madison Road and becomes Observatory Ave.
- Continue east on Observatory for ~1.75 miles.
- The last traffic light you cross will be Delta Ave. Continue straight on Observatory Ave up the hill about 1/4 mile.
- The Observatory will be on your left on Observatory Place.
- If you miss Observatory Place you will come to the only Stop Sign on the route. You missed us by one block.
Parking: For most events parking is available in the circular driveway at the end of Observatory Place.
To maximize the number of available spots please pull straight in like spokes on a wheel. Larger events or groups may require parking on the grounds near the back of the main building. - At the entrance of the circular driveway turn left on to Avery Lane.
- At the end of the blacktop turn right on to the gravel road. (Do not park along Avery Lane or the gravel road.)
- Parking is available to the right, behind the row of bushes. There will be signs or volunteers to direct you.
